Raindance in race mode, yeah right 🙂 during the running of the 2010 Rudder Cup , after stripping anything that was not bolted down off, draining the water tank, just enough fuel on board etc I only gained 0.25knts average speed.

Another pic of Florence Dawn, she is a beamy thing. One of the interesting points with FD is she is a one family boat i.e. current owners are the 3rd generation 🙂 not many, can claim that.

Lady Rae – designed by Chas Bailey Jr 1949

Joan – designed by Bailey & Lowe 1919

Sterling – designed by Bailey & Lowe 1909

Rumano – designed & built by Colling & Bell 1925, sadly lost off the west coast of the North Island

WHAKARI
Was owned in the 1930s by the Cashmore family (the Late Wally Cashmore). In 2014 she is still owned by the Cashmore family (his eldest son Gordon Cashmore).
The b/w photo above was taken by Ken Ricketts in 1948, Ken also took the hauled out photos at Gulf Harbour in March 2014. An amazing deed given the time frame involved.
