Paea – the only Harbour Defence Motor Launch in original condition, and in good working order out of the 16 the Navy bought in 1943. Yes she is wood 🙂

Raindance in race mode, yeah right 🙂 during the running of the 2010 Rudder Cup , after stripping anything that was not bolted down off, draining the water tank, just enough fuel on board etc I only gained 0.25knts average speed.

Was owned in the 1930s by the Cashmore family (the Late Wally Cashmore). In 2014 she is still owned by the Cashmore family (his eldest son Gordon Cashmore).
The b/w photo above was taken by Ken Ricketts in 1948, Ken also took the hauled out photos at Gulf Harbour in March 2014. An amazing deed given the time frame involved.
