ROSA
Rosa is a wee bit of a mystery, her trade listing states she was built in 1965, from kauri, and is 28’ in length.
Her zoom zoom comes via a 48hp Perkins diesel, after that we are told very little else about her.
Any of the woodys able to tell us more about Rosa?
Not All Woodys Live In A Marina
A good mate, is living the dream in a rather nice, almost waterfront house in Kohimarama, Auckland. His current woody passion measures less than 10’, but watch this space I’m working on finding him a bigger brother for the clinker 😉
BUT – he still trollies – Mayflea down to the beach and occasionally casts the rod over the side – the 35cm snapper was hooked last week in 5m of water off the beach – nice way to start the day 🙂

I was wondering if somone could tell me type of boat I own by showing a photo?
I brought it nearly 2 years ago…it’s a 20 footer and has 75hp Chrysler outboard motor and needs work done on it which I’m hoping to do at some stage…it has a brass plate in the cabin…with the name Hutton’s and masons…and wondering if it is a 3 kauri ply fibreglass over wood boat..
Thanks…

The image of ROSA on an anchor, with a single boat shed & ramp in the background, I believe is in Stockyard Bay, Bon Accord Harbour, Kawau. — One of my favourite spots for many years — KEN R

Lot more fun in buying them not selling them Alan.

The top image of ROSA, looks like it was taken on a swing mooring in Whakatakataka Bay.– She looks nice & tidy inside, at the time the images were taken. — KEN R

Was originally called Raewyn. The owner of many years we bort her off sed she is Billy Rogers built.
She is single skin and has 4.107 ferkin perkins onto a 3 to 1 gearbox. We bort her from Milford marina about 25 years ago and owned her for maybe 5 years. We sold her to a camera man at tvnz.
A very nicely built boat. Looked better when she had her mast.

I think that she is a Bailey build, that hull is better quality than a thin multi skin Shipbuilders. She has been called a Bailey before. Consider the Centaurus which is a Bailey also but whose hull and coamings look Steadman.

Rosa looks like a Shipbuilders hull.
