STARDUST

Stardust is a 36’ Athol Burns Kauri built woody.

Her trademe listing states she was built in 1962 & zoom zoom is via a 80hp diesel.

Home is Motueka, Nelson.

Anyone able to tell us more about Stardust?

Owned by George Mulligan, She was in action during the Wahine disaster (As was Kokoru which I believe capsized breaking a motor from its mounts before righting, later also owned by George).
George chased a boy i(a survivor of the Wahine) in the water from Seatoun to Eastborne but couldn’t catch him in the foul weather, he was left pacing the coast as he watched the boy wash ashore and be picked up by rescuers.
