Todays photo popped up yesterday on a Bill McQuinn fb feed and shows the Orams yard in Whangarei. The photo is dated 1967.

From left to right the game boats are (1) ’something’ GLEN (Lance Reid has suggested MONA’s GLEN , Lew Redwood says MONS GLEN and Nathan Herbert commented that could be MONA’S ISLE (2) BLUE FIN (3) RUTH.

  1. I recall going out on the Ruth fishing and diving, from Tauranga mid 70s to 1980. I cannot recall the owner’s name, I think he lived in Rotorua. I have always wondered what happened to her.

  2. Jim Price ran the Ruth out tutukaka early 60’s, then Harvey Franks bought the Ruth and ran out of Tutukaka too until he took on Willie’s Lady Margaret….
