KORORA – 32’ Townson Needs A New Owner

KORORA – 32’ Townson Needs A New Owner

WW was recently contacted by the owner of Korora, a 32’ Townson ‘Moonlight’ 1972 built keeler and advised that due to a few speed bumps in life, a new owner was needed.

As always its best to talk to the owner but who I can tell you is below –

• Built in 1972, kauri hull construction, comes with main/1/2/3/storm/spinaker – headsail is self-furling.

• Power is via a Yammer 2GM20, 18hp. Solar panel, and comes with a 2020 inflatable dinghy and Johnson 3.3hp outboard.

• Owner tells me it has a competitive sailing record in the Townson Association – sail # 1360

• Westhaven marina berth possibly available for rent

Interested – very attractive price – contact Mike Going on email at –  thegoings@xtra.co.nz

  2. Hi Mike
Great looking craft. Is the motor original or been replaced at some stage and what are the hours on it.

  3. Hi Jim,
Korora was surveyed by Russ Alexander when I purchased her in late 2019.
It has since had Gavin Dakers of Marine Certification along with Beacon Electrical & MTL Ltd carry out an electrical survey & Ultra Sound test on the keel bolts.
Engine maintenance & servcie records are also available for an interested purchaser.
    I hope this helps.

  4. Hi Mike
Nice looking, well-maintained boat, by the look of it Mike.
Has the boat been professionally surveyed in recent times? If so, who has carried out the survey?
    Cheers

  5. Hi Mike

Korora is looking lovely – you certainly have done a great job looking after her! I understand you had all the rigging replaced recently so should be good for many years. Who did that work?
    Cheers, Neville

  6. Hi Ken,
    Thank you.
The love goes back at least 20years to the devotion of Neville & Ann McGrath.
I’ve been a short time keeper of Korora but can say I’ve look after her soundly.
I’m yet to find an enthusiastic young owner or owners looking for a Townson Moonlight designed for Waitemata & coastal racing & cruising.
Winter is a great time to invest and get organised for a great summer ahead.
I’m happy to share our records & expectation with any keen purchaser.
