Te Atatu Boating Club – Mystery Launch

Te Atatu Boating Club – Mystery Launch

While mooching around the TBC earlier in the week I spotted the above launch out for some TLC.

Can we put a name to her and any more details on her provenance.

  1. It is possible of course, that she was built by Shipbuilders, she does have some similar characteristics, but she is not one of the many 28ft to 34ft kitsets, which were so very popular in the later 1950s & 60s, that they built, or supplied to owner/builders, as she has fore & aft planking, whilst they were all 2 skins on opposite diagonals, glassed. — KEN R

  4. Pretty sure she is a Shipbuilders. She was at half moon bay for quite some time maybe 15-20 years ago. A bloke by the name of Andrew Barltrop bought her and did get up. She then turned up at TBC and gas been on the plea for many years. Just can’t remember her name!
Do recall she had a wood burner heater… always frightened me as a young fella!😂
