  1. Hi I am looking for any info on Ineawa.
My granddad use to own her back in the early 1980’s.
I remember going on it when I was around 6 or 7.
It would be great to see it again.

  2. My father West Hill from Whangarei owned this boat in the late 80’s, maybe early 90’s. We kept it on a swing mooring in McLeods Bay. I remember many happy holidays around the Whangarei Harbour and the Hen and Chicks. We sold it to another family in Whangarei, then I think it went up north for a while, and then to Lake Taupo. I remember Dad telling me it was made from full length kauri planks from Great Barrier.

  3. Husband & I owned this boat in the 90s. Many memories of cruising Lake Taupo. We still have some documentation regarding the history of Ineawa if anyone is interested. She was built using timber from kauri trees off Great Barrier Island

  4. McLaren built INEAWA at Onehunga before 1930. She was racing with the Manukau Yacht & Motor Boat Club in October 1927. I would guess she was new then.
