MYSTERY COROMANDEL CLASSIC LAUNCH
Todays woody photo was sent in late last year by Ian McDonald – it originated ex the Auckland Libraries Heritage Collection and the photographer was probably a Stapley Farmer and its dated c.1960’s.
Ian commented at the time that there had been some commented re a possible name/s – TARA / REGARDLESS.
The location appears to be the upper reaches of the Coromandel township harbour.
Anyone able to confirm the name supply more details.
The photo below was sent in by Ken Ricketts, vessel hauled out at Te Atatu BC in 2025

The boat painted blue has appeared on woodys before, & it has been suggested that she could be the LOLA, owned the Connell family, of Connells Bay Waiheke, for many years. — Refer earlier posts.
I believe that the image of the other boat I sent Alan, today requires no further comment. — KEN R

The photo of the old launch looks very similar to the boat the Connell family (Connells Bay Waiheke Island) had moored in the bay. Often used for bringing stores and fuel down from town for selling through the shop. Connells sold the whole bay to Warren Fowler mid seventies.
