McCullum’s Bay Woodys At Anchor
Today’s photo comes to us via Mitchell Hutchings fb and originated from his late uncles slide collection (PG Parsonson collection). The date is unknown but the collection is from the 1950’s > 1970’s period. Looking at the boats I would be picking the late 1950’s.
Interested on others opinion and can we ID a few to the boats?

McCallums bay? It does look a lot like North Harbour at Ponui

There is Wairoa bay, which is at the doorstep of the Mcallum residence, if that is where we think it might be? Owners of Clevedon Coast oysters, and Mcallums Island (Karamuramu Island)where they have taken roading aggregate from for years. In fact the centre of the island has been mined so heavily, it is below sea level and gets pumped out periodically….. BTW you can stay at the Macullam residence for a minimum of 2 nights, starting at 9K last time I looked at their site 😬

Now it’s a more reasonable part of the day have had a more detailed look & just picked up on a few more , just to the left of FLORAY (later renamed LEILANI) is FELISA, & also Fred Steele’s FAYE is there, with a boat that looks very like MAKURA or TAWHITI, — (also identical sisterships so not sure which one), – in front of FAYE’S bow, but since she is more or less stern on, can’t be certain if it is one of them.
The boat with the lifebuoy in the foreground is definitely CHEROKEE not CONNIE V — she is not there at all.– KEN R

Great line up of less usual boats- the more unusual ones I can spot are Lady Karita, Maristella(sedan), Avalon(S.Ford), Counter stern launch more recently photographed as a crude bridgedecker on the side of a road at the top of a hill (was on trademe too I think?), Pleasure Lady with no raised helm by the looks. Others are easy to spot.

I wondered if the one in front with the life buoy was Connie V and the one to the right and behind Matanui

Here’s a few to start with; SAFARI, MARGARET S, FLORAY, MILADY, TIROMOANA -(QUERY)- LADY DIANA OR MARGARET ANNE, — ( hard to tell which one, being identical sisterships) & CHEROKEE
