LEISURELY
The motor sailer Leisurely was designed and built by Jimmy Reid, the only son of Northcote boatbuilder – James Reid.
She was built c.1960’s, of kauri / carvel, measures 28’ and has bilge fins. That folks is all I can tell you.
Those bilge keels, must be a taxing when under power 😉
Can anyone else shed some light on her?

Sad to see one of the Devonport Yacht Clubs long standing yachts – Pikelet – broke her moorings early last night and has washed up in the sadly very familiar spot by Windsor Reserve. As always locals were able to get a line to her to hopefully keep her off the rocks. Fingers crossed todays weather and tide is kind to her.
16-10-2019 Update – SAVED!!!
Hi about 5-6 years ago i brought Leisurely off Pine Harbour marina as a salvaged vessel.Previous owner was from Maraetai. Had been a fishing boat was told Gladden rebuilt cabin and topsides when it was turned to pleasure vessel. I refitted vessel with a BMC motor and box from Moon Engines
to the stage it is in photos. Sold boat and it went to Auckland.Boat was up for auction not long ago and is sitting on hard at the turn off to Mangonui i believe.
