

MYSTERY CLINKER LAUNCH
The photos above were sent to me by John Bullivant & show a large clinker built, canoe sterned launch parked up at 115 State Highway.
John commented that she looks like she’s been built for the rough stuff.
I apologise for the quality of the photos – ex google earth 🙂
Anyone able to tell us more about this unusual looking craft?

While it may be hard to believe she was in an earlier life was a Montague Whaler that the RNZN had a number of at Devonport. I had seen her at Snells Beach partially modified then later at Wharahine on the Kaipara harbour. This photo was taken at a roadside storage area between Wellsford and Te Hana.
