GAY DAWN – My late parents Ralph & Wyn Ricketts boat 1956 to 1970 is already well documented by me on the CYA Launch forum, link below. Refer there for info in “The Real Gay Dawn Story,” which I wrote to dispel many myths & much misinformation about this beautiful unspoiled example of a classic boat.

Great story — love it — dying to see the pics when you get them Alan,
Understand also that G.D’s. coamings may again soon be varnished, as per original, — that would look so very good, hope it happens. – KEN RICKETTS

Yes, we all went around the course but no one knew where finish was, some started late and some finished early. From what I understand, all had a good time.

Hi Rod
Did you actually race?
Email me some photos, I hope you did not polish all the patina off?

There are very few boats that look just right from any angle. “Gay Dawn” is one. Ken’s old man had her out at the house for quite a while for some mods including engine transplants and ?a new wheelhouse?. We were in “Naiad” at the time -a sistership of “Safari”
?. “GD” has always looked good.
