SOS CLASSIC LAUNCH RESOLUTE AGROUND
Any woodys have a contact phone number for the launch Resolute – she has broken / dragged her Stanley Bay, Devonport mooring.
UPDATE – 15/04 Checked on her at 6.30am – all good. Photos below. I have had an offer with assistance re a berth at Bayswater Marina, if interested email me at waiteatamatawoodys@gmail.com
Update 11.45am 15/04
The owner lives out of Auckland but has made arrangement for a salvage company to ‘collect’ the vessel and relocate to another mooring – hopefully a good result. Special thanks to Dan Renall for his help and passion for woodys. Photos below from early evening yesterday.

Hi All, James Patterson here, a bit in shock at what happened of course but also at the response and offers of help, It’s quite something to see the love for these old boats.
As soon as I heard what had happened last night I managed to get there immediately and put out an anchor. Worked very well and managed to get on with the dinghy at lunch as if I was heading to Waiheke! She seems fine and operated as normal. Now in Hobson bay for the time being. Mooring chain had broken and was still attached. Thanks to all who tried to contact me and for the concern, much appreciated.

I checked on her at high tide last night and she was holding firm. She has settled back on the bed in about the same place this morning. All going well she should be able to float away this afternoon.

I have just checked on her – she is floating ok, appears to be in the same spot, so anchor has a hold. Also is pointing into the wind – SW. The headland is providing good shelter. So fingers crossed. Photo, very dark so poor added to main story. Alan H
Many thanks to Dan Renall for also checking her out tonight 🙂

I went out to put the anchor out but somebody had beaten me to it. Unfortunately the bed is pretty hard so she will probably drag. She’s a lovely boat, so hopefully will survive the night without too much damage.
Yes – that was me in the orange jacket.

Carwyn – I think you should just do it, while the tides out. If it was my boat I would appreciate the gesture. Alan (I think I spoke to you earlier at the beach)

I live in front of where she has come aground and have a boat out in the bay too. Would be easy enough to walk out to her and set the anchor further out in the bay to try stop her coming up on the rocks when the tide comes in tonight. I’m happy to do it if the owner Okays it. I talked to the harbour master, but he didn’t seem too interested in keeping her off the rocks.
