Arcturus – Sailing Sunday

ARCTURUS

I snapped the above photos of the yacht Arcturus while anchored in Little Oneroa over the xmas / ny period. She is a 1930 John G. Alden (USA) design. She would have to be one of the prettiest vessels in the CYA.

Just need one of the ww yachting followers to chip in with more details on her.

Which they have (thx Rod Marler) http://www.classicboatcharter.com/history.htm

  1. In fact check out the action shots in this years Mahurangi yearbook to see her schoonering with pace and a perfectly trimmed fisherman.

  3. oops u r right – I have amended the post. I can’t check the Mahurangi results as I gave my copy of the 2014/5 year book/magazine away when I discovered this year the content / photos were 99% yachting focused & had ignored the single biggest on-the-water gathering of classic launches 🙂

  4. Not a modern build! She’s a big girl. Surprisingly small inside, but what a boat! Didn’t Bruce win at Mahurangi last year with her?
