All I can tell you about the above launch / motor-sailer is that she is a Brin Wilson sedan. Now there can’t have been many sedans around with a stick, so lets see what we can uncover.

Very much so. But isn’t it also technology that is helping this happen. How long would it take if we were writing letters to each other regarding each post or sat waiting our turn on the party line. Our lap top sits on the work bench next to the router bits and counter sinks and has a regular shower of woods shavings showering it.

You did, she is a regular on our CYA launch cruises to the hotel.

Thought I had seen her through the bottom of a beer glass up at Riverhead this year?

She is back in the Beachman family care & a CYA registered launch. As I said above, type Endeavour in the ww search box & read all about her 😉

BINGO – Nathan you are absolutely right. “She is the “Endeavour”. Built on Borrie Beachmans front yard, Hurstmere road, Takapuna. Brin Wilson built her based on Couldreys design. She was moored at Devonport and Milford Creek and he kept her until the day he died. I spotted her several years ago at Whitianga, no idea where she is now”. Dave Jackson.

Now gents – do not forget the ww search box – if you had entered Endeavour you would see a perfect photo of her side on with full rig. It could be her…………….

ENDEAVOUR was a “motor sailer” built by Brin Wilson (not by Arnold Couldrey) for Borrie Beachman. I wonder if it’s indeed ENDEAVOUR? I have a pic of her at home but am on my way to Christchurch right now.

Well spotted the Wilson sedans (his best boats ) all had a touch of the Couldrey about them, with perhaps a bit more beam, great gulf cruisers and the Brin Wilson built boats seem to last very well given half a chance.

Looks like the Couldrey Endeavour, but with a different aft window shape.
