ISMA

The boat above is Isma owned by Charles W Ravenhall – pictured in the Orakei Basin with Upland Road in the background – obviously in the days prior to the the basin being enclosed.

The proportions & scale on this little launch are just about perfect. I just amazes me how in later years all this wonder design talent was cast aside & ‘sheds’ we built over so many of our vessells.

Note: Charles Ravenhall also owned Silver Spray.

  1. I have looked at my Dad’s “memoirs” (Ron Ravenhall) and he mentions it being sold and its place taken in 1926 by the Silver Spray. Sorry he doesn’t say where it went to. It could well be the same boat.

  2. Any other info on this pic? Builder’s name?
There was an ISMA on the Manukau 1927-1928. Unusual name. I wonder if Ravenhall sold her to the Manukau?
