What is Hopai’s history? Her hull bears strong similarity to the awol Rosemary (Leon Warne).

Hi there
Amy parents purchased Hopai from the Dargaville area.
We currently have her stored in Kaukapakapa.
We had some great times in Hopai, but unfortunately she has been out of the water for a long time. We are just about to list her for sale. She is almost unrecognizable as a lot of work was started, but hasn’t been completed.
Hello Amy – email some photos please to this address. Alan H waitematawoodys@gmail.com

She is a bit like my Lucinda in looks. No actual relation of course but the same idea of a small raised foredeck bridgedecker. I’m interested to know where she is as well or more photos.

Unsure, when Jack Matich brought her she was pretty rough, was given the nickname’Hope-I-Make-It’,you had to go to bed with your rain coat on as the bunk was always wet,as a result he almost died of pneumonia. After that he and Eric Williams refastened her and raised the front wheelhouse and installed a Ford Ebro, later on Dad (Ronald Matich) fitted a 75hp D series Ford. She had a good turn of speed.
