UNKNOWN CLASSIC WOODEN LAUNCH ON THE MOVE

UNKNOWN CLASSIC WOODEN LAUNCH ON THE MOVE

Woody owner Mark Russell (MV KARANGA) sent the photo above of the launch he spotted in Te Hana heading north yesterday. No visual name, two props so most likely twin engined and in my eyes its got Oliver and Gilpin, Tauranga, written all over her.

Can we put a name to the launch and learn where she is heading.

  1. Seen heading East just North of Scow’s landing on road to Ngunruru-Tutakaka 6-7 July. Maybe new Captain Percy’s Ngunruru River tours boat or TLC in large sheds there abouts.

  2. I think she is heading to the Whangarei area out towards Ngunguru for a rebuild by a friend of mine if it is the one I’m thinking of.

Dont know the name of her but know she is in good hands

He has done a few before and I know he is very fussy with how he does things

  3. Also think Greg is referring to Eldon which I believe was at Tinopai, Noelani was at Dargaville last time I saw her. Cheers

  4. Heard a local rumour that Noelani recently changed hands and the previous owner was replacing her with a bigger O & G so presume this is it and if this is indeed it then it will be based at Tinopai up here on the northern Kaipara……….but don’t tell anybody……we like to keep Tinopai as a secret!
