I can ID Aumoe & is that Tasman closest to the camera?
Harold Kidd Update:
I reckon this is just before the start of the NZPBA opening race on 24/11/1934, a cruising race to Awaroa Bay. Boats were assemble off the NZPBA clubhouse at Mechanics Bay at 1430. Entrants were MARO, AHUAREKA, ELVIRA, DEFENDER, AUMOE, VIVEEN, CRUSADER, RAUMATI, LADY JOYCE, Surf and post entries. I see CRUSADER and AUMOE. I think the nearest of the bunch of three at left could be RAUMATI

It certainly does look like Crusader at right. Charles Collings did great hulls but his cabintops and coamings left a lot to be desired.
I have developed a id system for launches which is so complicated that I forget it all the time. It’s based on the characteristics of the bow, the stern, the sheerline, the type of cabintop, the placing of the ports etc. It works very well but requires one to enter every launch in a database. That’s just a massive job, but the whole thing is confounded by the following season when somebody has the bright idea of fitting a bridgedeck, a dodger or changing the mast arrangements.
One runs out of energy……………….

Don’t think so. Is that Crusader off to the right of frame?
