Hi i am pretty sure this girl was owned by my uncle Gordon Banks around the 1960s. it would be nice if any body can confirm this for me.She was still called Rotoiti at the time but my father told the same story about the name carved in the Transom. He also used to comment on the flare of her bow. If it is the same vessel i believe she was used by the navy for patrol work during world war two who repowered her with excessive horsepower and she turned quite a lick of speed. I recall seeing photos of her laden with drums of fuel before departing on a tour to the pacific islands,Tonga i think it was. I will try find those photos . Many a game fish were landed aboard her during Uncle Gordons custodianship .Sadly both my uncle and Father have passed away.
