An update on Peerless, the boat is still in my driveway under a cover. I removed the wheelhouse a couple of years ago, in the process of fitting the frame for the cover. Wheelhouse was quite rotten, and surprisingly heavy. I had to cut it in half for two of us to lift it off in two sections. Have today had a bit of a go at some “interim conservation”, raking out the seams around the bow and getting the plank edges primed up before the winter. After getting vast lamination of Sealant off the garboard seam, the garboard revealed and in surprisingly good nick, as is the stem. A new keel and hog and a great many new frames will be needed, and that will all have to wait till house renovation is finished and the shed cleared of house stuff. The motor, 40hp daedong, is due to come out soon. Runs well. Korean, naturally aspirated 400 hours. Anyone in need of a motor get in touch. Prm gearbox and new shaft and 18″ prop, suit a similar launch.
