1. Interesting reading about Jim Youngs 4.88m cat. In 1968 my brother and I brought a 16ft with 8ft beam moulded ply cat that we were told was built by Jim, it had originally had a single centre plate mounted between the hulls but was converted too 2 conventional cast aluminium plates at some later date, the rudders were none pivoting and had to be lifted off the pintles when beaching, the mast was a 26ft Oregon and the sails were red and white, the strangest thing was the registration KK 0 as this was not a Kitty Cat, I wonder if this was “Arahi” as there was no name when we brought her. ps I have a photo but can’t see how to attach it.
