Dauntless – A Peek Down Below
Recently Dauntless popped up on tme as a project boat that failed to progress to actually being a project. She was possibly built by Lanes in 2027, but this is unconfirmed and there is a lot of chat in the comments section of WW in a past story 2013 WW story – link here https://waitematawoodys.com/2013/06/03/dauntless/

Does anybody know of the good ship reflections of Wellington a 37 ft Brambling by May built by Phil Sissons that took off a few years ago last heard of in Greace. David Muir. Lowry Bay YC Wellington
A sad story. While we had Moana Lua on the slip at Lanes Tamaki River in 1994 for a 3 month refit, Dauntless was also out after sinking alongside Lanes wharf.
A retired couple from the Waikato, I believe, had purchased her with a recommendation she did not require a marine survey, as she had given 70 years of good service already! She was a mess underfloor and the Lanes bill to semi-rectify the problems resulted in the owners walking away. Lanes subsequently sold her to a younger couple, [Jony Black, from memory] to recoup their costs.
