MYSTERY LAUNCH 10-08-21
Today’s photo comes to use via the Andrew Donovan collection, I’m sure a lot of you will recognise the launch, but my grey matter is fried after reviewing and filing 50,000+ photos since starting WW 🙂

Getting a little tired of posting the CYA Tui billboard below – hopefully we will not have to wait until the next committee meeting (Sept 7th) to get some clarification on the committees stance re the vessel eligibility policy for the new 40 berth Heritage Basin……………………..

  1. In my eyes, A most beautifully proportioned bridge decked launch. A great image.
    Thanks ww.com

26-08-21 Input ex CMcM – In my eyes the subject launch reminds me of the Lady Shirley prior to having the big sponsons / beltings added. These were added when or while she was the Police Launch. Looks to me like War time and she is guiding the ship through a mine field.

  3. Hiya, I’m casting around for a pond yacht for my (almost!) 9yr old grandson. His parents have just bought a property near the shallows at the nth end of Te Atatu. I reckon it’d be an ideal place for such a trick. Have you got any followers/ friends who might put me in the right direction? Once he’s into it, I’ll plan (with him, I hope) to build something out of my old workshop. Hoping you can help, Ben Tombs

  4. It’s AMAKURA — I’d say later 1930s40s at a guess, by the styling of the original print border & general condition of it. — May during use by the navy during WWII by the possible design of the flag– KEN R
