  1. Hi All. A friend of mine’s family owned the launch “Idle Hour”, and he’s interested to know what has become of her.
Can anyone shed any light on the subject please?

  2. We are in Southland New Zealand. We have a pre-1965 seacraft kauri clinker about 16 foot, complete with original trailer, and we are wishing to sell it. It is in original condition, and although seaworthy could do with some work. In April last year we took it from Milford dock through the Sound right out to the headlands and back with no problems, we also did the Mavora Lakes. Unfortunately we do not have the time to restore her nor the proper sea for her in Southland. We are hoping to try and find her a new home where she will be loved up in a harbour somewhere. Looking for offers $2k

  5. Hi,

A good mate of mine has just passed leaving behind his bridgedecker “Saga”. Is there anyone who knows something of her history? She was purchased about 16 years ago from her p.o. at Gulf Harbour marina. Currently lying at Kerikeri. She is in need of a good clean up and possibly some repairs. Would anyone hazard a guess as to its value, as is, or restored/cleaned up?

Any photos? if yes – email to waitematawoodys@gmail.com

  8. I am doing research work on the Flying Dutchman Class more specifically on 1964 Olympic Gold medal winner (KZ 22 – Pedersen and Wells).
Would anyone have photos to share relative to this FD?
What yard in NZ built this FD?.

The FD Class association does not have this info on FD KZ22 recognizing that this dates back some 58 years. Earl Wells passed away in 2021. Don St Clair Brown in 2008 and Pedersen in 1987.

    Many thx. Paul, MONTREAL, CANADA.

  11. Does anyone know the whereabouts of a Ketch, which back in the late 1960’s early 1970’s, was named KIMBALA.
It was owned by my uncle Keneth McLeod of One Tree Hill, and was then moored on a swing mooring, close to the RNZYS at Westhaven.
