Mystery Project Launch
The above boat has just popped up on trademe, all the listing tells us is that she is 28’ long & made of wood. There is a dismantled Perkins diesel that comes with the boat.
The starting bid is set at $2800 & there is no reserve, so could be a great no-cost project for someone, the location is Levin so maybe of interest to a Lake Rotoiti woody 🙂

Does not look very professional in the flare line at the bow & does not have real symmetry of lines in the forward end of the boat as one would expect from a professional boatbuilder, also the planking is very amateurish by the look of it in the flare line — my guess is that she is home made — perhaps a vague hint of Roy Parris — KEN R

Looks very similar to the 1930’s 28 foot Lidgard built NGARO ex APACHE, at Taupo for quite a long time in the 1960’s, 70’s, and 80’s. But NGARO has four side windows, not three. So my guess is that this boat is a Lidgard.
