JANE
Built by Collings & Bell 1913. Hull shaped similar to the old whale chasers so she cuts a fine track thru the water. Any more details would be appreciated.

JANE was built by Collings & Bell in August 1913 for Stewart & Clifton of Mokau. The reference to whale chasers is totally fanciful because Collings’ whalechasers were high speed concave-convex hard chine planing hulls whereas JANE is a conventional low-powered displacement hull of the period. Her dimensions were 31ft loa x 7ft beam and she had a 15hp Doman engine for which Collings & Bell were the NZ agents. Later she gravitated down the coast to Wanganui where she was obtained recently and brought north.
